CYCLO event in Slovenia
A bike training day for children from 5 to 14 years old took place in Kamnik, Slovenia, on the 18th June 2011. The event was organised by the Development Centre of Litija and involved a high number of participants.
Cycling Cities
CYCLO (Cycling cities -Local Opportunities for Sustainable Mobility and Tourism Development) is a project co-financed by the MED Programme. It has got a budget of 905.000 € and involves 10 partners from the Mediterranean area. All these local bodies will work together over a 30 months period aiming at promoting the sustainable mobility in the involved areas.
The project focuses on the promotion of sustainable mobility in small and medium urban contexts, in order to make people use the bicycle as daily mean of transport. The use of bicycles has a low environmental impact, so to develop a new approach of high life and air quality in our towns and cities. New services and facilities for cycling, as well as the implementation of innovative and integrated solutions supporting the use of bikes, will lead to an enhanced quality of life and health of citizens and tourists.
